FALL RIVER… Reginald B. Jackson, 55, of Fall River passed away July 4th at Charlton memorial Hospital. He was the fiancé of Glendora Brothers of Fall River. Born in Westbury, NY, he was the son of Ruby (Dixon) Jackson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and the late James Preston Jackson. Mr. Jackson loved life. He enjoyed cooking, making friends and spending time with his beloved family. Along with his fiancée and mother, survivors include 3 daughters: Tyhais Small of NY, Amanda Jackson of NY & Tyhamanda Jackson of Fall River, 2 sons: Khalil Jackson & Rakeen Jackson, both of Fall River, 2 sisters: Cynthia Kouakou and her husband David of Westbury, NY & Carolyn Brown of Westbury, NY, a brother: Robert Preston of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, 6 grandchildren: Tyasia Simmons, Tyrel Simmons, Diamond Fountain, Dynasty Fountain, Destinies Graves & Ehjiael Graves, his uncle: Irvan A. Campbell, 2 nephews: Westley Momay & Alexander Henderson, 5 Stepchildren: Tiffany Evans, Leanne Winbush, Keyauna Hoffman, Rachelle Hoffman & Charles Brothers, 8 step grandchildren, numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 11 AM at the South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 9 – 11 AM prior to the service.

(Sears) Lopes and had resided in New Bedford since 2007. Mr. Lopes was a boxer for the C.Y.O. in Fall River under his late father and the late Nero Farias where he boxed Marvin Hagler in the Golden Gloves. He enjoyed landscaping and tree work. Survivors include 2 daughters: Erica Lopes of New Bedford & Rita Lopes of Mashpee, MA, 2 sons: Paul Lopes & Eric Lopes, both of Fall River, 1 sister: Donna Brisson of Fall River, 4 brothers: John D. Lopes, Jr. of Fall River, David Lopes of Kissimmee, FL, Joseph Lopes & Ricardo Lopes, both of Fall River, 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was father of the late Tyrone Lopes and brother of the late Matthew Lopes. He was a manager for Douglas Drug and several Building 19 Stores. Walter was a member of the Swansea Knights of Columbus, enjoyed going to Foxwoods, traveling, fishing, and coaching baseball. Richard Carl Benevides, 81, of Fall River passed away peacefully in his home on the morning August 4th, 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Husband of 49 years to Marjorie Lee Roberts Benevides and born in Fall River to Mariano Benevides and Eva Arruda Benevides. Richard was a 1952 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School and a 1957 graduate of the Rhode Island Radio School, where he achieved a Radio Operator & Technician certificate. Enlisting in the United States Army, Richard served his country in the Korean War as a front-line Radio Corpsman. He was honorably discharged in 1961, achieving the rank of Corporal. Richard then moved to California and met Marjorie, while both were working at the Long Beach Community General Hospital. Upon relocating back to Massachusetts, he was a gauger at Globe Manufacturing in Fall River, for over two decades. A devoted family man and avid sports fan; he is survived by his wife Marjorie and eldest son Carl Richard Benevides and his wife Laura Astle Benevides of New Hampshire. He is also survived by son Shawn Michael Benevides and his wife Sarah Whitesell Benevides of Massachusetts. He will be remembered as the loving grandfather to Maxwell Carl Benevides and Jonah Page Benevides. Wake to be held at the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home in Fall River on Friday August 7th, from 5-8pm.Funeral to be held at the Espirito Santo Church at 311 Alden Street in Fall River on Saturday August 8th at 9am. A procession will follow to St. Patricks Cemetery on County Street (in between Whetstone Hill Rd & North St) in Somerset, MA.
